Camino

it's never too late, or never too early to be whatever you want to be. there's no time limit, stop whenever you want, you can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. we can make the best or the worst of it. i hope you make the best of it. i hope you see things that startle you. i hope you feel things you never felt before. i hope you meet people with a different point of view. i hope you live a life you're proud of. if you find that you're not, i hope you have the strength to start all over again.
yesterday i was thinking it was about time i watching a new David Fincher film when up come the credits on a cracker and there's his name "the curious case of Benjamin Button" from which the words above are paraphrased. so i see this Ford GT 500 smashed outside a salvage yard thinking it's a beautiful thing that someone has enjoyed and this American car is an uncommon vehicle in the North of England. i return later with my camera, and the hoods up, headlight hanging off the floor blinking and two blokes inside, it must be the salvage guys sorting it out i thought. I wait for them to get out so i can ask to take some photos, not 20 seconds and a guy walks round,
"what they doin'?"
"i don't know"
opens the door,
"what yer doin?"
"rars whreere eree"
"get out of my car!"
out falls two bums, their dog and the remains of a 2litre bottle of 'value' cider meerin' and marin' about how they mean no harm and weren't doing anything wrong, they hung about like people do when they're smashed until they left when he quite rightly told them to do one.
"Mind if i take some photos mate?"
"It's seen better days, but go ahead"
Two wasted old bums sat in a smashed up GT 500, flickin' the switches...

Trivial

a blog can be like a diary of sorts, but for me i try not to concern myself or others with the trivialities that are everyday life, and instead to focus on the things that offer deeper insight. sometimes things are not trivial and treating them that way is negligent. same as 2008, in 2009 i find England to be rubbish, if not for a beautiful woman i wouldn't be here, this is not unusual, but it is for me.

Good Night

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light

Skate around Newsome Skatepark

so an update from this video, the Newsome skatepark now has a nice big fence all the way round the park. this is a big improvement, it stops mud and dirt being walked in. However, after having high hopes for my local park and considering the decade that we as Huddersfield residents have been waiting for it's completion, i'm not impressed. A classic example of what happens when you get it wrong. get an architect to build a skatepark who isn't themselves a skateboarder. i might liken it to having a hairdresser tailor your clothes because they're handy with a pair of scissors.
