a friend told me about his local butcher. he lives in a small village with only one butcher with the same owner for the last 20 years. that butcher retired and now someone else runs the business. now the pork pies are awful. he tells me what is more interesting than this is that the new butcher uses the same local supplier for the meat in his pies.
It is interesting, it's also a concept worth appreciating. the concept that ingredients need a good chef, an orchestra needs a composer and that great things are accomplished by dedication and commitment rather than by having the greatest means.
Some people are predisposed to greatness, but many people are not. the world is full of unfathomable things for which mankind is responsible. this comes to be because people are dedicated not just because they possess things that others don't. i think that if you want something it's less a matter of "going out and getting it" but rather to practice, to concentrate and to devote your energy to who you want to be, where you want to go and what you want to do. if you do that, it's just a matter of time. it's unhelpful to be envious when you perceive those that have what you think you want. everyone starts at the beginning and it's often messy at the beginning for everyone. understanding is achieved through personal experience, and there is little precious you can't achieve if you believe in your own strength.
i watched a film about superheroes called "The Watchmen" i recommend it. after over 7 weeks without it i now have my camera lens back.
