Transgression Skatepark Edinburgh

Transgression Skatepark Edinburgh
great flowing park, with a view of the harbour, click image for skatepark website.

My new favourite:

  • idiom: "pirate juice" an interesting combination of port and i think red wine. provided by, er, a pirate.
  • statement: "i know its not about the money" "nothing important ever is."
  • word: Gain- in audio, "gimmie some gain!" in concept, natural fortitude, to improve or increase.
  • concept: anything with enough variables to make the input/output infinite, is an instrument. Anyone capable of using said instrument to an accepted high standard is an artist.
  • phrase: "to go all bob dylan" ie when someone exagerates things out of all proportion, making everything deep and poetic when it really isn't necessary. eg "the heavens opened, i swam home and barely survived" "don't go all bob dylan on me"
  • word: Bash- eg i bashed my nose on the floor. eg i bashed through 18 pints then bashed my nose on the floor

Books for conduct

  • The Hagakure, aka the samurai code, click text for free online sample version, would recommend having hard copy. invaluable advice for all forms of conduct, behaviour and social situations, expressed in short passages best read and contemplated.

Vox Pop

"What a nice young man" Margaret Gelling
"A bright spark in the darkness" Rita Pickering
"too fast for me" Lance Armstrong
"they'll be talking about that lad" David Singer
"come back!" A Copper
"don't know what we would have done if he hadn't turned up" Sarah Crowther
